Welcome to the weblog of Ahiska Turks Project!

On September 30th, 2006, Nationalities Service Center together with International Rescue Committee's project for Strengthening Organizations Assisting Refugees, conducted a Conflict Resolution and Negotion Skills Workshop for the Meskhetian Turkish Community.
At the end of the event, President of the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict Mr. Jack DuVall, spoke about the efforts of the world struggling communities to fight for their rights in a nonviolent way, recognizing the efforts of the Meskhetian Turks in Russia during hunger strike in June 2002. The leader and organizer of the strike, Mr. Mukayil Latibov, on behalf of the whole community received a recognition award from ICNC.
